MEETing???

Assalamualaikum w.b.t...

Holla everyone... It's 12.50 pm now..and we are in the computer lab.. Assoc. Prof. Khir (trainer of the day) let us go out for lunch break early this afternoon..

Today's topic is about Meeting..
According to In Sharp V Dawes [1876], meeting define as ''An assembly of people for the lawful purpose '' OR the coming together of at least 2 persons for any lawful purpose''.

It's definately a new theoritical knowledge for me..
I've learn so many things about meeting..how to make a notice for meeting, the role of a chairman, the rules and regulation when attending or conduct a meeting..

When we say 'Meeting'...what is the first thing that come out of your mind???
Definately a round table..with the chairman, the secretary to take note all the minutes meeting and the rest are the audience, which means the employee of the company...right???
Ahaaaa....not to forget, the meals that are provided before OR after the meeting...am I right?? of course YES!! heee...

During university time, the meeting was held in a simple and easy way..
Usually the students do not know what are the do's and dont's of a meeting..
No strict rule was made..for example, the *quorum must be at least 40 people..AND maintain the 40's throughout the meeting..IF let say one of them suddenly go out to the WC, the chairman suppose to stop the meeting, then only continue when that the person come in and attand the meeting back..It is because if a decision is made WITHOUT this one person, he/she may challenge the result or outcome of this meeting..The result is invalid..

There are many factors contribute to the invalidness of the result..one of them is the chairman itself is NOT valid..The chairman must be a person that have certain qualifications; such as
a) personality - able to command respect..
b) impartiality - sense of fairness..
c) strength of character courteous and yet firm in character..
d) resourcefulness - enable to make quick decision, answer awkward question..
e) ability to maintain dicipline..
f) clarity of speech - announce clearly the decision..

*quorum - the minimum number of person entitled to present at a meeting which the regulation requires in order the business transacted may be valid. In addition, to mustering & maintaining a quorum, the quorum must be a disinterested one.

okay then, I'll eleborate more about this tonight.. *need to go for lunch and pray*

Catch you all later!

XOXO
